StarSkate Regular Season

Important Information

Online Registration dates:

Advance Registration for returning families:

August 15 @8am - August 22 @10pm

Make sure to register using the same UpLifter account as last year, otherwise the system will not allow you to register in advance. Click “forgot password” if you have forgotten; DO NOT create a new account.

Returning skaters who register by August 22 have a chance to win back their Skate Canada fee! ($58.70 value, no cash value, non-transferrable)

Regular Registration:

August 29 @8am - September 19 @10pm

Registration Deadline:

September 19 @10pm

If the program is full a waitlist comes into effect.

Fee/Payment Information:

Fees DO NOT include the mandatory Skate Canada fee ($58.70). This fee is non-refundable and must be paid in the first instalment. Skate Canada fee is good from Sept 1-August 31, so if you registered for September Skate, you will not pay for this again.

You may pay in 1 or 3 instalments (August 29, September 29, October 29). Late payments subject to a $25 late fee.

We accept e-transfer, credit card, or funding (e.g. KidSport, JumpStart, Chance2Grow).

Fundraising Information:

It is a requirement that MFSC members must fundraise or pay a buy-out (for each registered skater). Members may choose:

Sell/purchase $500 in CO-OP or Spenst Brothers gift cards OR
pay a “buy out” of $50

Fundraising will happen in early October. Buy-out money will also be collected at this time.

Volunteer Information:

It is a requirement that MFSC members volunteer at club events. There is no buy-out option. We need all members to volunteer so that we can provide events for our skaters.

Volunteer requirements are “per registered skater” and volunteer jobs will be emailed at a later date. Please mark your calendars for Nov 1-3, 2024 as we are hosting a competition and this is one of the events we will need volunteers for.

The 2024-25 volunteer requirement is at least 1 job per registered CanSkate/PreSchool skater and up to 2 jobs per registered StarSkater.

If you are new to StarSkate, please read our document “Welcome to Junior Group” found under the “Program Information” tab under “StarSkate”. (Link coming soon)

Please note that to once you have added an item to your cart, your space has been reserved and you have 30 minutes to complete checkout. Please take the time to read over all policies carefully.

Once you have completed registration, you will receive an invoice. If you do not receive an invoice, you have not registered, so please make sure to complete all the registration steps.

Junior Group

Junior Group is for:

Those who previously skated in this program
Those who have been invited into the program from CanSkate

2 days per week:

Mondays:

4:15-4:45 pm (off ice)

5:00-6:00 pm (on ice)

Fridays: 6:15-7:15 pm

Cost:

$381 + Skate Canada fee if applicable

Cost includes group coaching.

Junior Private add-on

Junior Private is independent skating practice for Junior Group skaters. Cost covers ice time only; private coaching is billed monthly as an additional expense. You must be invited to this program and you must have a private coach arranged.

Tuesdays: 5:45-6:30 pm

Cost

$51 (private coaching fees not included)

Intermediate

Intermediate is for:

Those who previously skated in Intermediate A
Those who have been invited to this program from Junior Group

3 days per week:

Mondays:

4:15-5:15 pm (on ice)

5:30-6:00 pm (off ice)

Tuesdays: 5:30-6:30 pm

Thursdays: 6:30-7:30pm

Cost:

$462 + Skate Canada fee if applicable

60 minutes group coaching per week included in cost

Private coaching fees not included.

Senior

Senior is for:

Those who previously skated in Intermediate B or Senior
Those who have been invited to this program

3 days per week:

Tuesdays:

4:15-5:45 pm (on ice)

5:50-6:30 pm (off ice)

Thursdays: 4:15-5:15 pm & 6:15-7:30 pm

Fridays: 4:15-6:00 pm

Cost:

$555 + Skate Canada fee if applicable

Private coaching fees not included

Senior Recreation Option

May only choose 1 option - Must consult with coach prior to choosing one of these options. Registration will take place manually through the registrar and skaters will be directly billed.

Option1: Sr Skill & Dance

Senior skaters (with coach approval) will be able to choose 2 half hour Skills & Dance sessions per week of their choice. Each 1/2 hour session must be identified at the time of registration and may not be changed throughout the season. This program choice also includes one stroking session per week.

Option 2: Sr Free Skate

Senior skaters (with coach approval) will be able to choose 1 one hour Free Skate session per week of their choice. Each 1 hour session must be identified at the time of registration and may not be changed throughout the season. This program choice also includes one stroking session per week.

*Note: For both options skaters MUST discuss this option with their coach to review lesson time and program expectations.

All the same fundraising and volunteer requirements apply to Senior Recreation Options.
