Funding Assistance Options

If you know a child that is unable to participate in activities due to cost, funding may be available to qualified participants through the following programs.

Jumpstart/ Bon Départ

Sometimes, families need financial assistance to get their kids into a sport or physical activity. Learn more about the Jumpstart application process below!

KidSport Manitoba South Region

KidSport provides grants to kids from families facing financial barriers so they can participate in registered sport programs and experience the lifelong benefits of a season of sport. KidSport Manitoba provides grants of up to $500 per eligible kid, per year (January 1st - December 31st) towards sport registration fees.

Grants are intended to be used for sport registration fees; travel, competitions, uniforms and camps are not eligible for funding. Grants cannot be issued to programs/seasons that have already concluded.

KidSport uses the Statistics Canada Low Income Cut-off guidelines as a tool to determine which families are eligible for assistance. Exceptions may occur for unique circumstances, but in most cases applications will not be considered if your household gross income is higher than shown in the chart

Chance 2 Grow

“Chance 2 Grow” funds a wide variety of recreational and educational opportunities for children from music lessons, art and dance classes, to gymnastics, swimming, and figure skating. Includes hockey registration in our southern region. This program will pay registration for a myriad of activities upon request.
