CanSkate is Skate Canada's flagship learn to skate program for beginners of all ages!
Regular Season dates:
October 16 - December 8, 2025; AND January 5 - February 26, 2026

August 16 @ 9:00am - August 22 @ 10:00pm
Make sure to register using the same UpLifter account as last year, otherwise the system will not allow you to register in advance. Click “forgot password” if you have forgotten; DO NOT create a new account.
Returning skaters who register by August 22 have a chance to win back their Skate Canada fee! ($58.70 value, no cash value, non-transferrable)

If the program is full a waitlist comes into effect.

Fee/Payment Information:
Fees DO NOT include the mandatory Skate Canada fee ($58.70). This fee is non-refundable and must be paid in the first instalment.
You may pay in 1 or 3 instalments (August 30, September 30, October 30). Late payments subject to a $25 late fee.
We accept e-transfer, credit card, or funding (e.g. KidSport, JumpStart, Chance2Grow).

- E-transfer is direct deposit; please include skaters name in the message
Fundraising Information:
It is a requirement that MFSC members must fundraise or pay a buy-out (for each registered skater). Members may choose:
- Sell/purchase $500 in CO-OP or Spenst Brothers gift cards OR
- pay a “buy out” of $50
Fundraising will happen in early October. Buy-out money will also be collected at this time.

Volunteer Information:
It is a requirement that MFSC members volunteer at club events. There is no buy-out option. We need all members to volunteer so that we can provide events for our skaters.
Volunteer requirements are “per registered skater” and volunteer jobs will be emailed at a later date.
The 2025-26 volunteer requirement is 1 job per registered CanSkate/PreSchool skater and at least 1 job per registered StarSkater.

Skating sessions fill up quickly, so register as soon as you can. You may wish to create an account in advance to speed up the registration process. For information on how to do this please see the “Frequently Asked Questions” tab, and choose “General Questions”.
Please note that once you have added an item to your cart, your space has been reserved and you have 30 minutes to complete checkout. Please take the time to read over all policies carefully.
Once you have completed registration, you will receive an invoice. If you do not receive an invoice, you have not registered, so please make sure to complete all the registration steps.

PreSchool Skate is for:
- 4 year olds (by Dec 31, 2025)
- 5 year olds with no or limited skating experience (cannot stand or move forward unassisted)
1 or 2 day a week options available
Mondays: 6:15-6:45 pm
Thursdays: 5:30-6:00 pm
Oct 16-Dec 8, 2025 & Jan 5-Feb 26, 2026
Cost:
1 day/week:
(16 sessions, no switching days)

2 days/week:
(32 sessions, same skater)
